  • Confirm the Charvel model?

    Hi,

I bought this Charvel in July 1986. It was from at Mother's Music in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I have played it on and off for thirty years, but have never known much more about it. It's a kind of metallic dark purple colour.

I replaced the locking nut and volume pot in 1996 with a Bourns' log. I lost the whammy bar in 1990 and tapped a Floyd Rose bar in. The active electronics are really hot and unlike any guitar I have owned since. (I've had some Ibanez and ESP that's do not play anything like the Charvel.)

I'd appreciate if someone could give me some more info on it.

    Thanks,

    Stay warm!

I am thinking this a model 4. Any thoughts?

    Dan

Model 4 looks the closest, definitely a 1986 based on the serial #, TM/TM headstock and neck plate, and the brass rollers on the bridge. I have a 1986 model 3 serial number 231929 your's is even earlier. http://charvelusa.com/charvel_models...86_models.html
