  • Getting the Strings Off of a Model 4?

    Hi, apologies in advance for making the stupidest thread ever, but I just got a Charvel Model 4 and one of the strings broke on it. Problem is, I can't figure out how to get the string off. This bridge is weird dude.
    Here's a picture.

    If anyone can help me out, I'd appreciate it

    You need an Allen Key that fits inside the cylinder that goes out of your high E tuning knob. Looking at your picture, see under "nts" of the word "Patents".

    Find the proper Allen Key, unscrew, and the string retainer block should get loose and will let you change the string. Also, don't forget to unscrew the locking nut too.

    let us know. Cheers!

      Don't forget to set your intonation towards the end of your setup too.

        and dont unscrew the string retainer too far and have the block fall out and lose it

          With that bridge, it does not matter how much you loosen the string block, if it is loose any at all the block will fall out when you turn the guitar over! You may want to find some one in person, that can explain to you how that bridge works and how to set it up. if you don't you may never be happy with that guitar!
