NGD - Charvel Model 4 and San Dimas Pro Mod

Hey I just got a new guitar like 3 hours ago, I got a modified 87/88 Charvel Model 4 with a red sparkle refinish, (you can't really see it in the photo that much though) Dimebucker in the Bridge, Cool Rails in the Middle and a Hot Rails in the neck. Serial #317750 (87 or 88 serial?) Here she is.



I got my 2010 San Dimas Pro Mod about 4 weeks ago but didn't post any pics. Serial #JC0002298 Here she is.

Yeah It's a Crimson Swirl. I always wanted an Rhoads when I was a kid, they're great guitars.

Thank you, and that's just the Jackson/Charvel part. Yeah it looks much more impressive in person. If I get hold of an HD camera, I'll take pics of it then and hopefully we'll see that red sparkle/metal flake finish.

How do the necks compare, thickness wise? I had a model 2 back in the day and that thing was thin, like the Ibanez i have now. I was hoping the pro mods were somewhere between that and my DK2, but probably more like the DK2 thickness.

The necks are pretty close between them in terms of thickness, the model 4 is a little thinner and Id say the pro mod has a wider fretboard. It is closer to a DK2 thickness I'd say, I've played a few in my time, I own a DKMG and I'm guessing they'd have the same neck profile so I'd say that the pro mod is similar to a dinky, maybe still just a tad wider fretboard though. No matter whether you decide to get a model series again or a Pro Mod in the near future I'm sure you'll love it either way. They're both fantastic guitars.

I agree, I've always thought white guitars with maple freboards look really classy. Should have got my DK2M when I had the chance 3 years ago. lol.
