  • Pots for Model 3 and 6?

I have some issues, could be soldering, might be faulty/aging pots. This said, I believe this thread answers the question about the model 6 pots given the close relationship to the soloist, please let me know if I am incorrect:

How about the model 3, just a pair of 250k audio pots? Like these?

I would use 500k pots on the 3 for the humbucker. But 250 is also ok.

You'll need 25 or 50k for the active circuit on the 6 I believe.

I was considering the 500ks, but was concerned for the single coils. Though I like that jangly, chimey single coil sound, I also suppose the difference wouldn't be so dramatic.

These aren't mini or extra long shaft pots are they? They appear to be standard in size.

It's my first attempt at this job, so I'd like to nail it on the first try.

Edit: Popped the lids off each. 500k for tone and vol on the 3. Then 50k vol, uncertain boost, and 250k tone on the 6. Looks like Allparts only carries 50k mini pots, will those do?

The 500k pots will just make the singles a bit brighter sounding
