I just bought this old charvel 375 deluxe on ebay and it has some knicks< I kind of want to strip the old finish and get it painted transparent purple, dyed or mabey an 80s type finish. Should I or should I not, and any more color ideas? Its cherryburst btw.

It's a basswood body, I wouldn't spend the money, personally.

In fact, I would consider the stripping job to be very difficult due to the very thin veneer having been sprayed red.
