I'd really rather just get an S5470 with 24 frets and the ZR trem.

I just bought an S470DXQM and it's VERY nice despite being MIK.

What's wrong with the current S series?

I think some would like to see an anniversary model of the S like they did with the RG.
          I'm angry because you're stupid

Depends on which one and who you ask.

A picture is worth a thousand words...

Here is a pic that shows the difference in some of the neck profiles.

Wizard I block heel, Wizard I AANJ, and MIK Wizard II AANJ (left to right)

The guitar on the left is a 1990 S540LTD.

I want them to bring back the baby Blue FGM model, that one looked so goddamn badass.

Yeah it also explains why I found the current S-models to be playable, the old "wizard" neck profile just made my hand cramp up, way too thin for my taste.

Well...that's the point. It is supposed to be thin.

The whole guitar is thin. A thick neck on a thin guitar is kinda crazy.

                      I have thick guitars too...

I like both. But when the thin guitar becomes thick it's disturbing.

The MIK neck is not thick, it's just not original wizard thin.

I don't really care either way since I can play on anything, but the S470DXQM I just got fucking SHREDS.

My Gambale was insanely thin. Made the guitar feel like a toy.

But it only had 22 frets.

My main issue with the current ones is they've thickened them up over the years, and have the ZR, which I am not crazy about. One of their great strengths was that they were extremely thin. They also had a very classy look to them with the inlays and finishes they used to do. That said, the guitars were not without their flaws; almost overly small necks, fragile neck pockets, and input jacks that screamed "break me!". I liked mine, but the neck was just too small.

For the record...the RG had the same "fragile neck pocket" and "small neck".

                              Though it had 24 frets.
