  • Custom-made Kelly finally done!!

Took about a year to get this done by an up-and-coming local luthier who is already gaining a loyal following... Thought I'd land one before he gets too expensive!!

Modelled in the image of my favourite Jackson shape, the Kelly, but with a few subtle tweaks of my own.

    Basically these specs:

-Flame maple (not that visible in these pics) / bubinga 5-piece neck-through
-Alder wings w/ beeswing jarrah caps
-Ebony fretboard with MOP sharkfins and jarrah binding
    -Matching headstock
-Tonezone / Air Norton with 5-way switch and volume
    -Gotoh FR

    Hope you guys like it!

            Nah, the headstock looks fine...

That is a nice piece you have there. Almost looks like it could play itself!

            Congrats!
            I'm angry because you're stupid

Thanks guys! Yeah, I don't think I specified a knob so he just stuck that on there, I think I'm going to get him to stick a chrome knob on there before he sends it.

About that headstock... well I didn't want it to be a total copy of a Jackson!! I was a bit worried it wouldn't suit the Kelly body, but now that it's done I must say I really like it! I'm glad you guys seem to as well.

PS - anyone notice that it's got no bevels on top ala KE2T? I always liked that look, but wanted a Floyd, so there ya go

Very cool! The headstock reminds me of this B.C. Rich.

Yup, I love those headstocks on a Stealth. That one up there is a bit of a take on that one combined with a Firebird headstock, I guess.

Coming from Mr Learn himself, that's a big compliment!!

Cygnus... yeah, I took the inspiration for the visible neck through section and stringers from BCR style bodies, well spotted!
