  • New Custom I Am Having Built

This is not for everybody cause its basically one guy building these.
I have been working for 3 days on specs and just about have everything figured out but what nut I want (R4 or R5).

Looks familiar doesn't it? The color I am getting is in the pic below. Gold hardware. 24 frets - I want that Humbucker tone in the neck position. He can make the neck joint and neck heel line up in the same spot as if it were 27 frets.

Plus I spec'd out my own neck proportions. Alder Body, 1/8" Flamed Maple Top, Maple Neck, Birds Eye Maple Fingerboard with no inlays, Schaller Trem, Coil splitter, 2 Hums.

Neck: .80" thick at first fret, .87" at 12th fret (a bit skinnier than PC1). Trying to get a nice wide board - minimum R4 nut wide spacing. Might go R5.

Yeah, that looks pretty cool - very Hamer Californian like, which is no bad thing....
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

The webpage is under construction. The guy was in a band and the bass player was doing the webpage. The band broke up and the page fell apart. So I don't know when he will have one up.

Do you have an idea on the pricing of the blue Hamer Californian guitar pictured in your post?

That purple looks really nice. A friend of mine has a Grosh Bent Top in almost that exact shade and it looks great in person.

One odd thing about that purple guitar in your post, though: it's got 23 frets.
Takeoffs are optional but landings are mandatory.

...and the Californian was a copy of the Rand guitars from the 80's...an even better thing
