My co-guitarist scored one of the bolt-on Spyder´d Vandenbergs a few years back... the slim neckshape and the short scale makes it easy like a dream to play. I think he paid about $250 for his, but it had a shoddy puke green refin we had to remove. It ended up the original red color, with a Duncan Custom in the bridge and (possibly, can´t remember) a DiMarzio HS2 in the neck... and he likes it just as much as his SL1 and Kramer Stagemaster Archtop. He´d always adored the looks of the Vandy´s, and the whole affair ended up great.

EDIT: Wait, it doesn´t have a Custom at all... he swtiched that out later. It´s either a DiMarzio Evolution or Breed in there now.

Most reviews seem to indicate they place nice but have crappy pickups. I'm considering buying a white neck-through one with trem myself
That is true on the pickups on the NTB. The pickups that come on the bolt-on V-types sound good though.

I don't like the way the new V-Type tuning pegs look
They actually are very cool in person.

All the new ones are neck thru right?... My current and only guitar now is neck thru so I would of like to get a maple board 2 hum bolt on Vandenberg
The V-Type NTB (neck thru body) are neck thru. The ones that are just called V-Type (USA) and V-Type EXP (import) are bolt ons.
USA V-types have ebony fingerboards and are Hum/Single:

EXP import V-types have rosewood fingerboards and are Hum/Hum and come in
          string thru:

          or floyd:

You won't find a maple board V-type. The closest you can get to that is the old 1989 "89 tracer deluxe" from peavey, which is basically the original Vandy specs with maple board:

I changed mine to a Duncan Screamin Demon in the bridge and it was way better than the stock pickup. I change the neck pickup a few years back to a lil JB and don't really care for it. I thought about switching it back.
