  • GMW 5150,... Finally!

I've been chasing after one of these for quite some time. There aren't too many around, but whenever one popped up for sale, I was always just a little too late. Then I finally came across a guy in CA selling his Ebay. It may not have drawn a lot of attention because he didn't post a pic of the actual guitar and was very careful w/ his description for fear of EVH's attorneys shutting his auction down. So I contacted him and he sent me some pics. I snapped it up for a VERY nice price along with a copy of his original purchase receipt from GMW!

This guitar really plays fantastic. The neck is a nice unfinish maple. Lee even did the asymetrical backshape. Nice and full feeling in my hand! The only thing I wish they would have done differently was bolt the pup directly to the body like the original. Here are some pics. The finish is a little glossier than shows in these photos:

I played one of those recently and liked it for what it was. Nice grab for sure.
