  • How rare are orange rg 550 Ibanezes?

    Anyone know?

Not particulary rare, just well sought after, the colour is called RFR ( Road Flare Red ) and many people would like to own one, there's a few on ebay.com now if my mind serves me.

well there is Road Flare Red which is actually kinda pinkish and Carotene Orange which which is actually flourescent orange ( like in my thread "bright enough Rg550")

and yes they seem to be more desireable I guess then rare.

I don't think they offered the Carotene Orange or the Road Flare Red for many years so wouldn't that make them kinda rare? Desert Sun Yellow or Jewel Blue, now those are Ibanez finishes that I wouldn't consider rare.

Maple boarded Carotene Orange RG550's are kinda rare, yeah, especially with matching headstocks. The RFR models were primarily 550's (top routed, with pickguards) with maple boards, and the CO guitars seem to have been primarily 570's (back routed, no pickguards) with rosewood boards. If I had a chance to grab a CO maple boarded matching headstock 550 I probably would, and quick
