  • Scored this super rare BC Rich V

I don't think many of these exist... Not a Class Axe... Rico ERA. The trem is non recessed, 1 vol, 1 toggle... Super fast bolt-on neck.

Looks legit. Where'd you find it? What trem is that?

                It's a one-off, possibly a precursor to the Jr. V

Also possibly celeb owned/built for...It appears to be just pre-Class Axe.

you bet.. to me the Hydra shape was a very era related guitar...I've always taken a partiality to them even tho they're a bit oddball...and I bought this one in because its in yellow.

Last time I saw one of those, I was holding Eddie's in his Pasadena house circa 1979!

Even back then, I was more attracted to weird, non-Strat shapes!

Not to change from the owners V.. but seeing a Hydra way back then when they were pretty much a 'concept' guitar.. very cool.

A guy used to play a Charvel Hydra around here. Donny Donaldson..probably an '81 as I saw him live with one around then so it may have been a early San Dimas or even a pre pro. He played with Yanni in Chameleon.
I'm recalling it as white..strat headstock.

Back to the V.. can you share the serial? I'm curious where the numbers are at on this.

That V is the closest I've seen to the mythical "Gunslinger" V that was hanging in a local guitar store many years ago. That was also black, but with a single pickup, maple board and reverse head. I wish I'd had the money at the time....

                          Very sweet score, Loudone!

The only thing I like better than guitar porn -- which you've so generously provided here -- is the backstory as to where you found it, etc.

                          Tell us the story, bro!

Nice V, it looks so much better like that than the BS widow headstock

That's closer to the shape they use now for the Kerry King V as it's not the JR V style.

I've seen a few of these, I have pics somewhere of a gold flake 7 string V with a matching headstock with this body shape.

                              It's my favourite V shape.
