  • 25.1 scale neck guitars

I played an Ibanez SZ520QM the other day and I have to say that the 25.1 scale neck was the best playing neck. I have small hands and this neck was just unbelievable. Can anyone tell me if there is a Jackson model that has a 25.1 scale neck or any other non-Jackson guitar that has a 25.1 scale neck. I am definitely going to buy this guitar because of the neck, but I wanted to see if there are any other options out there with this same neck profile.
    Thanks

The Swee-Tone Jackson series is 25" scale as are most Carvins and PRS. Those are the ones that I came up with off the top of my head.

Fenders '89-'91 HM Series strats are 25.1" too.

Its also refered to as "GIBSON SCALE" since Sg's and Lp's are that Length. ESP does a Jake E Lee custom shop that is 25.1

gibson scale is 24 3/4 or 24.75 which is what Jakes ESP's were ...

25.1" ? i haven't seen any. 24.74" is the Gibson scale I thought. Most guitars are Strat scale 25.5". There are a couple of Fenders that are 24". but, i'd like to try a 25.1"

Aren't some of the Hamers 25" scale as well? I played a McInterick (sp?) once that was 25" scale but I don't know if all of them are.

I don't know of any Hamers that have a 25" scale. The majority of them use 24.75" with a couple of 25.5".

In the 'normal' guitar scale length (ie not barritone or other big differences in scale length, there are 4 lengths widely used:
                    24.75" (the Gibson scale)
                    25" (PRS and Carvin)
25.1" (Ibanez SZ, Heartfield, HM Strat)
                    25.5" (the Fender scale)

Also the Fender Jaguar (recently reissued) and Mustang (made until '81,originally 22.5" scale) are both 24" scale. I think there might be Daisy rock guitars of shorter scale too.

Some of the older Carvins were 24.75" scale as well, just in case you are looking used. I can't remember when they stopped with those, I haven't really kept up.
