Shawn,

That is an incredible looking guitar. Who made the body? Is it a USACG?

You have some incredible project guitars -- puts my collection to shame!

                  Re: GMW replica

Mark, I bought the body from Monte. I'm fairly certain it is from guy ob eBay seller formulaford or something like that as the blue body was just like this one and I bought it off eBay

Paul, no chance in selling the tiger flame GMW but here's a picture with them side by side

Beeyootiful guitar, but isn't the floyd nut too narrow?

Looks really sweet. Noticed the nut and why the black tuners?

                        Re: GMW replica

Yeah Pete, the nut is a R3 (1-11/16) on a 1-3/4 neck. It looks like its way too narrow in the picture but that is the way the camera had to be on an angle to prevent flash glare. A 1-3/4 floyd nut made the strings too close to fretboard edges for my liking.

Jong, I always use black tuners on unfinished headstocks, gold or chrome look too invisible, its just my preference

                          Re: GMW replica

I hear ya on the strings too close to the edge... I had a Dean that for some reason had the string so far out to the edge that I was constantly pulling the high E off the neck.

                            Re: GMW replica

Very fine axe you've got there (actually, the whole collection is pretty damned sweet). I agree, black tuners on a maple headstock is like peanut butter & jelly - it's just right.

Assuming that the 1-3/4" nut you tried was an R5, perhaps an R4 would be a happy medium for this neck? (I think that both R3 and R4 are intended for 1-11/16", but the slightly narrower string spacing R3 is for bound, and the slightly wider string spacing R4 for unbound).
