  • strat mutt project

Here is a strat project that I completed recently.
1 piece alder body (neck pocket dated 1985),flame maple strat head neck, both body and neck are of unknown origin but very nice.Body and neck were unfinished.
Frets were tiny so I installed medium jumbo wire.
Pickups are DiMarzio Virtual vintage PAF in the neck SDS-1 in the middle and a Super D in the bridge.
Vintage Fender trem with brass saddles, all other hardware items are NOS Schecter brass pieces.Electronics are RS guitarworks pots and Hoveland cap.
Paint and amber neck lacquer were done by RS guitarworks.
I have to thank Roy B.for his paint work and time, and to Jim (sambencuda) for the link to the pics and for the G&G case to put it in.
    Here are the pics.

nice looking mutt, i like how you put the volume further away. I love strats, but my hand always hits the volume and lowers it which causes me problems.

The electronics cavity was pretty small so that was the only location I could put the vol and tone pots but it really is cool having out them of the way.You can roll the vol and tone at the same time with your thumb and ring finger.

Thanks Chuck.I was going for the "old school" look.
It does sound HUGE tho'.The paint is very thin and dulled down a bit to look used.
