• Ken Lawrence Guitars

Especially the explorers, they are just breathtaking!

I saw a picture on the megadeth boards with a guy that had a black finished one, with an extremely awesome dragon inlay along the entire neck and the most wicked black headstock. I still prefer the good ol' Chechen top most though (Hetfield, I know, but I can't resist...)

    Anyone else love these things?

Yes, they are awesome. That fellow is a member at my forums and he has three other Ken Lawrence Customs, various wood combinations. I'll try to find the pictures and post them. Eye candy to the nth degree.

I think look at once dramatic, and classy. Very cool guitars.

Yeah Germandeth I have that picture of his FOUR KL's, he is so lucky. That's approx. 28 to 30k on KL's alone!

Ken's a great bass player and mostly known for making basses and working for Mesa/Boogie's R&D department, but he does turn out some amazing guitars once in awhile, too!

I've been lucky enough to find some people who know em pretty well. I'm estimating it'll be about 3 years and i'll have my ultimate dream guitar, a KL Explorer, it doesn't get any better for me.

                  Re: Ken Lawrence Guitars

I pretty much know all there is to know on Het's KL's. I have a sh*tload of pics of a Chechen KL Explorer (identical to hets, only the headstock is different due to Het's own request)

Right now it's at $6500 to $7000 for a KL Explorer. I know a guy who reserved two economy class plane tickets, flew to Canada, picked it up and had it on the seat next to him on the plane. I didn't even know they allowed this.

If something can be seatbelted, you can damn sure buy a ticket for it.

I think there was one on E-bay last week?
I think it was the guy who owns 4 of these selling one of his.

I know the guy who's KL was on Ebay.

The pictures did look very familiar though.
