• Pic of my 5150 replica

I built this a couple of years ago, but now seems like a good time for me to post a pic of my self-made 5150 replica (actually, the striping is more like the "1984" guitar EVH used on parts of that tour).

I started with a Kramer Focus 1000 (Japanese version of the Baretta) body, which is made of solid maple. I added a Warmoth neck, Seymour Duncan Custom Custom pickup mounted directly to the body, and OFR w/D-Tuna. After a pro fret leveling and setup, I love it!

Next project: Charvel Model 2, done in the B/Y scheme, with a Warmoth maple/maple Strat-head neck (Wizard profile this time) and a double-creme DiMarzio Tone Zone. Then, I gotta get an Ibanez Destroyer and a circular saw!

Looks good!
5150 logo can be little more bigger though.
Good work!

Heh heh. Good eye. Instead of ordering the actual "space tape" 5150 numbers off the Net, I just bought some from Wal-Mart that were intended to end up on someone's mail box. They were supposed to be temporary, but I guess I got used to 'em. To be accurate, this guitar should have had "1984" numbers, but I thought 5150 looked cooler.

Pretty nice looking replica. Not perfect, as you've said, but definitely very cool. Best wishes on the B&Y one.

Looks great! It always feels good when you build something with your own 2 hands.
