  • Ibanez USA Customs

So, does anybody else here have any of the early '90s USA Ibanez stuff? I've got the "Necromancer's Castle" model which I guess is based on an RG770 (H-S-H P/ups) original Wizard neck (no stripe),Sharktooth inlays, etc... I've seen a couple of other graphic finishes from that series but would love to see the rest. Who's got 'em?

Damn, I need a better camera.

I know a shop where they have a HSS model with reversed head. Jani of Sonata Arctica played an old USA customshop model for quite some time.

I think he still plays 'em. Those are great guitars. But id prefer an Ebony board over that rosewood one

I agree, it's a killer guitar, but ebony would be so much nicer. I don't think they offered ebony as an option even on the custom shop models IIRC. The only thing this one needs is a hotter bridge p/up, It's got a PAF Pro in it right now, but I'm gonna slap a JB in it as soon as I can find a good one on the cheap.

I've seen some variation of the Necromancer Castle and the best looking one had purple clouds and an orange demon. It looked very good.

Cool links, thanks! I did notice that "The Necromancer's Castle" wasn't listed in the catalogs for 89-90-91, and was only available in 89. Ya learn something new every day!

I also have one of these, mine has the silver snake/copper snake skin with 24 fret shark inlay with reverse headstock. The guitar plays smooth, if i get pictures i will post.

That would be the artist's signature/year of production I believe. I haven't found an artist listed by that name/initials, but the history of the USA shop isn't really complete. I know that Dan Lawrence, Pamelina, and Pedro Cruz were the 3 main artists for those guitars. mine(necromancer) is a Pamelina creation.
