• where to buy Hamers?

There are no Hamer dealers in my area, so I am forced to look online. MF, ZZsounds, and music 123 don't sell them. ANyone know of an online dealere that does? Thanks!

Try doing an online search for dealers. A lot of dealers have a web page with an e-mail address or phone number where you can contact them about mail-ordering guitars. I found a couple but have no idea what kind of shipping they charge.

Hmmm, MF did sell them at one time. I guess they don't any more. Though, I can't remember if it was just the imports or the USA line as well. Anyway, try the Hamer board. http://www.hamerfanclub.com/cgi-bin/...umID1&archive=

I'm in chambersburg, Budman. I know about BCR in Lemoyne, but that is still like an hour drive from here. I don't know if I plan on buying one, just looking around. Are the imported Hamers nice? I can't justify spending the $$$ on a USA model since I only play in my living room. If the imports are crap, I'll move on to something else. I found the import standard (explorer) fro 349.95 at a store in MD. Any opinions on these?

Yes BCR is great place but Triple R Guitar is a great one also. The guys are great and know their stuff as well. That's really the closest place I know near you. Sorry bro.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Guy, do yourself a favour and buy used. Deals on them abound. Used USA hamers can be had for as low as $200. You'd ought to be stupid to buy a hamer import with the shitty resale of the USA plain jane shredders. These guitars play and sound as well as any other guitar of their kind out. I find that my hamer diablo plays as well as my ke2t and sounds better for 1/4 the price.

I REALLY want an early 80s Hamer Studio guitar, with the more Strat-ish style bridge. In red, preferably!!

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">You mean a Special like this one? These sustain block guitars ring like bells acoustically. By far the best sounding bridge I've ever heard. You can still get these for $400 and up.

I agree with Jerry FG, a used USA makes the most sense. I tried out a some of the imports a couple of years ago and found them to be very inconsistent. Many had obvious workmanship issues. Also, I'm not a big fan of those "Duncan-designed" pickups. Things may have improved since then, but if you buy one without playing it first it's a crapshoot. If you decide to buy online, make sure they have a good no-hassle return policy. I checked out Chris' Guitars to see if he had anything. No USA's at the moment, but he does have a nice looking import ST-1 for $299.

I also have a used Special, but mine has the P90s and TOM with Stoptail. That guitar rips also and it can also be had around $500 used

                              DG,

Chris has quite a few USA's in stock but his prices are nothing to write home about.

This Diablo USA will end at $300 or less.. Like most superstrats, I think it looks like ass, but as far as tone, workmanship and playability you can't beat it at that price.
