This would be something I would actually consider - imagine sticking a Jackson (style) neck on one of these...

If they are WW2 related graphics why does the 12th fret inlay read USAF?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">True - good catch. The USAF didn't come into existance until after WW2. It was the Army Air Corps at that point. Oh well - no one has EVER accused musicians of being TOO smart!

so... correct me if I'm wrong, but... wasn't it the "8th air force" they sent to england (later to be followed by a bunch of others)? why "air force" when it's part of the US Air Corps? does this mean that names were just as stupid back then as they are now???

anyway, the inlay is probably just the result of some historically retarded designers

I may be wrong but i believe it was the Army 8th Air Corp that was sent over first with more to follow. The U.S.A.F. as it is today went into effect after WWII. The brass hats decided they needed to seperate all theatres of war including seperating air sea and land forces into groups.

Military Intel? Never heard of such a thing.

                        Re: Schecter w/Bomber graphics...very cool!

The United States Army Air Forces was established in June of 1941. The Air Corps was apparently a separate part of the Army that predates the USAAF and that was eventially subserviant to the AAF at some point during the War The AAF became its own branch of the military, and thus the US Air Force, in 1947.
