  • Kramer Nightswan Refinish

I received an old Kramer Nightswan from a customer that wanted a refinish. The guitar was originally a heavy flaked silver. Cool, but not REAL cool. He went with the blueburst polka dot ala Vivian Campbell. It needs some minor tweaks before it goes home. But, Holy Hell this thing screams. I can't believe I sold mine long ago.
I believe these were made by ESP and assembled in the New Jersey plant. If that is the case, I might have to find some old ESPs to check out. The quality, fit, and sound is nothing less than stellar.
    Anyway.....here are some pics.

yeah, that looks awesome. I have a Schoepher 'swan in polka but the dots are just white, not reverse burst..

                    Very Nice Work. Love it.

How does the middle humbucker sound? Seems like a very weird pickup placement?

To my ears, it sounds like you would think - not quite "creamy" as a neck pickup, but better than a single coil in the middle. I think Vivian had originally wanted to combine a les paul and strat in a single guitar - That has never been asked for before?!!?? It is hard to explain, but I like the variance especially when the bridge is a Full Shred and the mid is a JB. The JB has a little less attack but has a nice sound to it for that position. OK....I gave no clear definition to how it sounds - its just good.
