i can post some better pics tonight, but it is the real deal. I checked it out thoroughly before i made the trade. i was skeptical about why he would want to trade this for my SG. he told me he bought it on a whim, said it really wasn't his style and never plays it.

The thing that will tell if its a chinese fake is rub on the serial number if you can rub it off or its over the clearcoat its a fake.
White is the most common color on the fake JEMS too.
Another way is if the inlays have no color in the scalloped part of the neck like they do on the rest of the neck.
Post a clear up close pic of the face of the headstock and the back of the body where the monkey grip is.
Neck plate area as well.
There are a ton of fake Jems out there and it seems 05 serial numbers are quite common on fakes.
Not busting your bubble mind you just trying to make sure you didn't get taken by this guy.
If its a fake and you can prove it maybe swap back if the guy will even do it.
I'm a firm believer you do a deal and you get taken its your fault not his.
I never go back on a trade deal even if I screw myself.

Was that newer style trem even used in 05? I didn't think that style edge trem didn't come out until mid 2000's
Some red flags on that so far so I'm not sure what it is.

That looks like an Edge Pro trem. If it is, it was on those guitars from 2003-2009.
