  • Roscoe Guitars

Hello All, I'm new to this forum and thought this might as well be the first place to post. Anyway have any of you heard of Roscoe guitars? they were made in Greensboro N.C. by Keith Roscoe. According to his Manager he stopped making guitars in the mid 90"s and only makes high end basses now. I got lucky enough to get an lp shaped guitar with a Kahler Floyd Rose type trem there were only 100 made and each were one of a kind because of the finishes. Has anyone seen one or know any more about them? This guitar is exceedingly well designed and built and is one of my favorite weapons of choice.

    Thanks In Advance
    GtrLvr

        Photobucket is a good choice.
I had number 1 of 12 Roscoe Dr Death guitar.Kinda off the wall looking but very cool none the less.
Was given to Joe Perry by Keith personally.Joe in turn at the end of the tour gave it to his guitar tech which was from my town.
It ended up in a guitar shop and I bugged the guy for 8 years to sell it to me.
I sold it to the MGR of GC in Cinci Ohio.It now resides at GC in L.A.
        Really? well screw Mark Twain.

He stopped making guitars when one of Boss Hogg's cigars burned his shop down.
All men play on 10. Never gonna turn down again.

There was a couple in the store I worked in in the early '90s. Both 24 fret superstrats 1H/1S setup.
One had a blue quilt maple top, and the other an airbrushed portrait of Isabella Rossellini. A local guy also had one with a "zombie skateboarder" design on it. (Really not as good as it sounds...)

A friend of mine owns (or did own) a Roscoe. Had a city woman graphic on it. Bolt-on neck. Ebony board. I don't have any pics of it. I'll email him.

You see them pop up from time to time. There is some info from the guy that did a lot of the custom paintjobs here:

Your Roscoe LP is killer! Roscoe made quality guitars and there were some cool graphics. Every once in a while they pop up for sale, but it's not very often. And when they do, they aren't cheap.

If you came across a cheap priced Roscoe, let me know.
