I do agree with DonP upgrade the electronics only if it needs it I have a few I have left alone because they sound killer the others had mud issues on the neck pick ups.The reason for the mud was Gibson uses whatever pot is in the bin so sometimes you end up with a 300k vol pot on one pick up and 500k on the other. The 87 Std I had just a while back had 300k vols and 150k tone pots so that was the culprit. I used an rsguitarworks pot upgrade kit in that one.
After the upgrade all the sweet tone was there.
Most all the modern L.P's have the 9 weight relief holes or are chambered but sometimes that's not a bad thing.
My 83 studio is solid as is my 81 custom and quite hefty but not uncomfy to play strapped on.
My 50's tribute is 8lbs or so and chambered but sounds great.
I wouldn't not buy one because its chambered its how they feel and sound to you that makes the difference.
