My New 84 Kramer Baretta.

Check it out, totally stock and in good shape. Paid $750 off craigslist. The 83/84 is the first year run for the famed Baretta. In fact this is the only year the Baretta had the banana headstock. The Kramer necks were made by ESP hence the similarity to the Lynch headstocks.

Yes, serial # C9836 dates it to mid-84.

Actually you could be right based on the serial number it might be a late-84. If so it could still be made by ESP.

On a semi-related aside, I've always found Lynch's relationship with ESP to be kind of ironic. IIRC, back in the 80s, he complained bitterly about acquiring a Kramer and, in the end, not liking the guitar. Of course, they were ESP-manufactured parts then. Then, not too much later, he started his now long-standing endorsement of ESP.

BTW, that's not intended to be a knock on either Kramer or ESP. Both cool guitars.

Actually, I saw an interview with Lynch and he said he liked the Kramer when he first got it and you can find him playing one on YT, check the Alone Again video. He's playing a black Kramer. But then he said he didn't like it. The ESP gig came about when he was in Japan, they approached him about doing a custom signature series. He said he wasn't familiar with ESPs before they came to him.

I would wager that is a LASIDO neck...which are sweet BTW.
