Benford?

Anyone ever heard of these. Buddy of mine has one. Strat shape, strat headstock but cut just a little differently like Nuno's N4, nice setup and action, wilky trem (but according to site you can get a floyd as well), stayed in tune well, action was good, ebony board. They're selling for $400 - $600 and I think they're USA but not sure. What's up with them?
