  • J200 pickups without JE-1200 boost

So, would J200 picups work without je-1200 boost?

Yes, but you may find them muddy (depending on what you plug them into). They are high impedance (high output?) and the boost lets them come across cleaner.

If your amp has high impedance, you should be fine. Mostly older transitor amps (1970s)had low impedance.

"Use this pickup only together with Jackson Low Impedence Electronics."

Translation: "This pickup sounds like ass without one of the boost systems."

Not a very good pickup with the boost, and really really bad without it, imo. Duncan, DiMarzio, & others have so many better options in single-sized hums that it's just not worth it to try to make these work (again, just my opinion).

They sound very dark with out the mid boost.Find some J-100's they sound great IMO and have more punch than the stock Fender singles.
        Really? well screw Mark Twain.

No the 200 is a regular passive pickup. The circuit converts it from high to low impedence. It can be used without the circuit just fine.

edit: it is a stacked hum, however - the regular 100 is a single coil which would probably be noisey with the boost circuit.
