  • Endorsement option...Trey

So, from the NAMM threads and majority opinions, it seems the general consensus is Jackson needs more endorsers. A death metal band may not be a great place to start, but it's someone else displaying the Jackson/Charvel name...

I've seen Trey rocking the Warrior, and some Charvel mutts. What better than to get him his own axe? Especially considering he plays 7 stings, that could bring an awesome 7 string model into the normal production since all the other 7s have more or less failed (judging by most of the threads I've seen here on Jackson's 7 strings).

That would be awesome! But I've heard him say that he doesn't want an endorsement from any manufacturer. Just because he wants to be able to choose freely, and play anything he wants.

He's too busy wanking around on "Quake" or "Doom" or some crap to be bothered with playing guitars.

Seriously though, having watched that, it's a fucking great vid. A death metal band would be ideal for Jackson I'd think. Most "rock" players seem to look down on Jacksons, so fuck 'em, go for the metal market.
I just wish Morbid Angel would release a new album FFS.

i would say i associate trey with ibaneze universes and bc rich ironbirds more than jackson/charvels and would also second what anders says.

There are a lot of death metal and black metal bands that are/were playing Jacksons. Slowly but surely, they all get assimilated by ESP. At various times, I've seen the following bands using J/Cs live or in videos/photos:

Hypocrisy, Nile, Dimmu Borgir, Susperia, the aforementioned Morbid Angel, Emperor, The Crown, The Haunted, Wintersun . . . and many more that I just don't remember.

Jackson hasn't used the same endorsement scheme as its competitors for a long time, so I'm not surprised that they don't land or hold onto the better-known "extreme" guitarists.

Not us!!! MercyKill proudly sporting at least 4 USA Jacksons on stage at all times! Of course we are not signed but we tour and play a shitload of national metal shows in our area. Unfortunately Jackson has yet to bestow an endorsement upon us, but we will not give up hope! (hint, hint)

I once heard trey saying he's not the guy that would spend more than 300 bucks for a guitar, so Jackson endorsement...perhaps he could get some discount on x series

How about Allen Jackson! Country jammin' on a Jackson. Now that would make the pointy comes to Country
