  • Place to run a serial #?

    Hello:

I think I have ran across one sweet axe. I have loved Charvels for a long time, but I have never seen one like this one. I am n love with it already, but I want to have some more information on it.

Does any one know how I might obtain such onformation just by using a serial #? O 200379 is stamped in just past the 22nd(last) fret.

I am going to try to get some pictures of it up tonight. Any help would be appreciated.

Doesn't look like a Charvel serial.
Got a pic of the guitar?

How about a description? I am not used to Charvies with sn's stamped on the board. Most I think (USA's) have them on the neck plate. Most likey its a import

if it's stamped, it suggests a neckthru, which would (most likely) be an import. That number looks odd though....

          The first O is probably a C .

            A 22 fret neckthru Charvel?
If the serial is C200379, that would mean it's a 91 or 92, but They stopped making neck thru import Charvels in 1991 (650 Custom) IIRC and it was a 24 fret'er.

OK, hopefully this works. You'll have to excuse the poor quality. These were taken w/ a camera phone.

I Believe this is an LSX-III.
I mainly want to know when/where this thing came from. How many are there. (I am guessing rare). Is it all original? (The bridge pup doesn't have the logo and seems to not be as hot as the neck). What are all the bells and whistles? (The mini toggles are 3way, and the Volume is push-pull)
What is it worth? (Everything in immaculate condition other than a ding just behind the furrels on the top of the guitar.

Oh, and the last pic are some other Charvels I have owned. I am on the right, and you can't see it, but the finish on it is what I believe was called Desert Crackle. The other one is a US model, and I wish I hadn't sold it to the guy playing it! LOL

Set neck with an archtop... LS-I. Made in 1993. That would explain the serial.

Looks like someone added the mini toggles.

The LS-III was a flat top and had a Wilkinson trem.

Looks like an LS-1 with some mods. Not positive, but iirc the LSX models were flat tops rather than arch. They were only made for a short time, around '93. Same body style as the Jackson Infinity, but with the gumby headstock rather than the pointy. Catalog scan here:

-edit- Rick beat me to it

That's cool... I was thinking that it would look a lot better with the Amber Bell knobs... I guess Charvel thought so too.

Any idea what these guys cost off the line?
