  • Jackson Case question...?

So I was looking through the price list and it lists two hardshell molded Dinky cases...

    JCC201 - Molded Case Dinky $89.95
    JCC921 - Molded Case Soloist/Dinky $119.95

What the hell is the difference that makes one $30 more? They are both SKB hardshell fitted cases right...? :\

I had a case for my 1997 DK1 that was really nice and the guitar fit in great, it dropped in so the top of the guitar was like level with the interior of the case surrounding it...The case I saw at the guitar store when ordering my DK2T didn't have the guitar sit so low, it was fitted but the recess for the guitar body wasn't as deep...is this the difference maybe..? Even if that IS the case, the only difference is the depth so I'm sure they cost the same to make right? So why even make the cheaper, less snug fitting one?

Try doing a search using "JCC201" there are several threads on this.

Here's one that may help you

JCC921 Has the molded in "Jackson" logo

JCC201 Has painted on logo (or what ever)

Other than that they are both the same

The thread that Ron referenced stated that the 201 had bigger places inside to stick accessories (strap, bar, tuner, etc.).

What about the Gator cases mentioned in that thread, anyone have one for a Dinky? It's not form fitted to the shape of the guitar so I'm just curious as to how tight that rectangular body area hugs the body of the guitar...

the interior of the standard gator case only hugs the neck, not the body. i've never had problems with those gator cases, but i wouldn't ship a guitar in one.

I have both cases and I can see no difference inside, only on the outside.

Unless there have been changes made. The newest one I have came with my DK2LE, all the others I have came used from e-bay.

Check with the JCF dealers above. I'm sure one of them can hook you up.
