Thanks to Budman for the ring! If you guys like, I'll post the steps required to make this happen, since it requires using a dremel to cut out a little extra room for the mount tabs.

Looks great man, nice job! How's the sound now, and is that a JB7?

Yep, that a JB7. The sound is exactly what I was looking for, since I have a Soloist with a JB in the bridge. Seymour Duncan did a great job with this pickup, managing to widen it for an extra string, while keeping the exact same JB tone. In contrast, I don't think a TB-4 hits the mark, but this one does.

I think I'll be doing the same to my 'Stars', I'll change the neck '81 to an '85. Do all EMG's use those quikconnect things?

Yes, all modern EMGs use the quick-connect cable. And personally, I'd put the 85 in the bridge and leave the 81 in the neck.

To be honest - and I have nothing against EMGs, especially the 707 - this guitar sounded like crap with the EMG in it. It sounds MUCH better with the JB.
Division - American Metal that doesn't suck. Much. Even on Facebook.

Well, I'm pleased as hell that you didn't like the TOM bridge.

The JB7 really brought the guitar to life. It has lots of growl and warmth, where before it was very harsh and sterile sounding. It still may wind up with a Custom7 at some point, because the one in Mike's Washburn Sonic 7 sounds absolutely crushing. I've only been able to find them at Musician's Friend, and there is a three week backup on them right now.

For those of you who think I ruined it, I can always go this route:

I've actually got a Duncan Custom 7 in my Schecter 007 Elite... love it! I normally love EMGs, but I decided just to stay passive this time around.
