Re: Charvel/Fender props from Dokken!

From his website I joined my first serious club band at age 19 and from playing around the New York area, I managed to get an audition for Warlock, which led to my first recording and touring experience at age 22. I played on the Warlock Force Majoure record and did the major accompanying tour. After the Warlock experience came to an end, I moved to Los Angeles to continue my career. At the time, the Grunge movement began and although I enjoyed many of the bands from that era, I was not interested in playing that style of music.

I decided to go to Law School in order to achieve some financial stability. I attended Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, and then opened up my own law practice in the Los Angeles area in 1996. My law practice focuses on the areas of Entertainment Law (including contract drafting and negotiation), Corporate Formation and Family Law.

          So Warlock was the band.

I've always liked Dokken except for one guy - Don Dokken

Other than him, they're a great band.

               I couldn't agree more.

I met John Levin twice on their last tour. He was cool and humble. I even let him hold my ESP M1 for a little while (he didn't want to give it back) he he

BTW, I hope you all had a chance to check out Lynch's work on his collaboration with Jeff Pilson on "L/P" Good stuff. Jeff played a lot of songs from that album when I saw him last month on his War & Peace tour. Remember Mitch Perry from the Edgar Winter Group and Heaven? He's Jeff's axman. Ironically, we saw George at the same venue 10 days later as well at Don Hill's in NYC.

                    Re: Charvel/Fender props from Dokken!

I've been a Dokken fan since ninth grade (around '86) and agree with mudkicker (happy b-day) that they were better than most of the LA metal bands coming out at that time. I liked the songs but George was a major reason for the interest. I've found that I'm not really interested in the band without him. I'm curious to hear the Lynch/Pilson CD though.

                      Re: Charvel/Fender props from Dokken!

Lynch has always been my favorite and why I started playing. I am sometime blinded by that fact. I never cared for Dokken without Lynch until recently. Hell To Pay is a nice disc and the disc Reb Beach played is very good.

Lynch/Pilson was a very good disc. I wish they had done more.

                        Re: Charvel/Fender props from Dokken!

I am a big Lynch fan. He was a big influence for me. I really liked Dokken from a song point of view. They wrote damn good songs. Burnin like a flame was cheeseball corporate though. But Lynch was the magic in that band for sure IMO. Those other guitarists that came after him are all terrific guitarists no doubt, but Dokken with no George is like cake without frosting: its ok, but it aint great. He was always a step ahead of everyone else on guitar. Lynch mob kicked serious a$$. and his solo CD was very good too, Some very nice instramentals there. "I will remember" is a time piece for sure, not as intense as MR. SCARY, but far more melodic. a testament to his talent. I do admit that I dont care the some of the later stuff he did on his own. too different.... but he has to grow too I guess.

Lynch's solo album 'Sacred Groove' is my favorite disc from him. There is so much on the disc that is worht listening to over and over. I think Tierra Del Fuego is his best instrumental.

                            Lynch/Pilson CD is great.
The sound of the guitar is very heavy though.
I still like the tone of 80's Dokken and Lynch Mob albums over any of Lynch related CDs in last 10 years...

[/ QUOTE ] Jon Levin, as Jon Devin, was actually on the Force Majeure album by Doro as a solo artist, not Warlock per se. Maybe he joined before they dropped the Warlock name but he is not credited on any Warlock album. I think he feels that name has more cred than Doro so he uses it in his resume.
