Sup all?
first off i would like to thank Dave(budman) for once again providing me with some killer custom work.
i had Dave make a string through " V " plate and a control cavity plate for my 84 RR that i got from Toru, to replace the worn out orig. brass.
I had him only tap one hole in the control cavity plate. usually, I'll just jerk the pups out and load in an Emg and put a blank in the neck position cause I kinda prefer a single hum. with one vol. and no tone knob. but i thought i would go with something a little different here. i am gonna get a dual vol. pot so i can control the amount of vol. of each pup from one knob, in one hole,,,,thats WAY the hell out of the damn way.
i also had Dave make some brushed aluminum pup rings and truss rod cover for my 90 Namm warrior that i got from Brett.
The story here is i wanted to load my favorite Emg 89 that i have had in many guitars into the warrior without altering the body (in case i ever want to put it back stock again) cause we all know the early warriors had the angled single coil pup's and how STELLAR they sound.
First off i shaved the casing a little on the Emg so the bottom is a little narrower than the top.(the plastic the Emg's are encased in is thick so you have some room to play with it, and the Emg is like 1.5mm larger than the route itself...which is actually an advantage).
I then removed the mounting Wings off of the sides of the pup so it would fit in-between the points of the dual single coil route. then i lightly tapped it to the desired depth....like a compression fit and it ain't goin nowhere.
the single coil ring around the Duncan Live Wire(its just for show to fill the hole, its not hooked up) is to keep the theme as it looked odd with just one around the hum. they both mount with a long screw into the factory mounting holes for the pup's. I'm gonna try to find some long screws with little Hex bolt heads to keep that theme too.
the decals are kinda...um a work in progress as it is not done yet sorta like a war-bird, but to pay tribute to my brother who is stationed in Afghanistan with the 131st airborne, working with the CH47D Chinook helicopters to keep them in the air and our troops safe.
anyway BIG PROPS TO DAVE and here are some pics...enjoy
