Re: Favorite & Least Favorite Inlays / Fretboards

Favorites are the M.O.P and abalone inlays on my PS10IIltd Iceman. Close second are sharkys, especially in zigzag on ebony.

Fretboard - Rosewood. I have yet to play an ebony fretboard that has felt nice. I'm still looking though. Iwould like to play more maple but the only ones I seem to find are Strats and I can't stand Strats.

Inlays - MOP sharks for J/C definitely. I can't stand the flames, not a big fan of the ridiculous inlays like the PRS Dragon and such. I prefer the Hamer crowns over the victory, don't like the boomers either. Dots are cool. Not a big fan of blocks, either.

After the pic of the headstock, I guess it is yours!

I just ordered mine. It was a toss up between ebony and Brazillian rosewood with a single abalone sharkie at the 12th. I went with ebony. If I went with BR I would have had black binding on the neck and head, but since I went with ebony, I went with ivroid.

Well Ron, I guess he's not one of the guys that copied you!

Ebony for the fretboard. Rosewood feels too soft and I don't like the of maple.

I don't like inlays period, but I make due with sharkfins. Although, Jeff & Kerry's Slayer eagle inlays are pretty sick.

the "brazilian rosewood boards on prs's feel a lot like a rough sanded pos 2X4 and probably cost the same. Don't believe me try it yourself.

I never tried a PRS with a Brazilian rosewood board. I've had PRS Customs with Indian (I believe) that felt that way. My 87 Jackson Student Arch top has BR and it's just as smooth and dense as ebony. Must be a PRS thing?
