  • Identifying Possible Jackson JS1

I was wondering if someone could help me identify a Jackson I'm picking up today. I was trying to upload a picture of it, but the site is saying I don't have permission to. It's a black JS Dinky style guitar with a reverse headstock, black tone and volume knobs. The serial number is 65000147. At first I thought it might be a 1996 JS20, but looking at the catalog it looks like those didn't have reverse headstocks and had 3 pickups. I'm thinking this might be an early-mid 2000s JS1. They're asking $65 for it so I'm not too worried either way, I'm just looking for a cheap guitar to put in Drop A. Any help is appreciated.

Gotcha, thanks for the reply. Here's the catalog from 2003 on the JS page:

I'm assuming the JS1 was an even cheaper alternative to the JS20? I picked up the guitar about an hour ago and am actually surprised by how fun it is to play, and the pickups aren't half bad. I have some EMGs lying around that I'm going to have my friend throw in there and have it set up for Drop A and call it a day.
