Nothing but HH for me. It's versatile to begin with and more versatile with the split coil option. Plus I just like way it looks. I like a Humbucker right up againt the end of the fingerboard. I guess it's just the Les Paul influence.

I said HSH, but to be honest the most I ever need is HH. I'm either on the bridge or the neck.

I really like the H-S-S setup. Tons of versatility and I like that. Of ocurse, for balls-out rock, I suppose a simple "H" is all you need. But for me, it's cool to have a big 'bucker in the bridge and then have a single-coil at the neck for those tones. And when using clean tones, being able to get those in-between settings is great, too.

But just like with pizza or ice cream, "best" or "favorite" is a matter of personal taste.

I chose H/H only because it is common and all but two of my guitars (four) are H/H, and I hate H/S/S...

I do much prefer a single hum, or H/S, then H/H... but for reality's sake, as long as there isn't a pickup in the middle for me to keep bumping my pick against, I'm okay [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

They're all good, but most my guitars at the moment are H/H, except for my Jackson JJP which is H. I've got a Dinky that's waiting to be refinished that's H/S/S (five-way switch will be filled in and three on/off switches will be put in to have any pup combination [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]). I'll just keep the middle pup a little lower so it doesn't interfere with my pick like it has on certain guitars in the past. I had a Yamaha years ago that was H/S/H which was pretty cool, and my Fender Double Fat is cool with its super five-way switch in that I can get the neck humbucker split in position 4, and in position 2 I get the two inner coils of both humbuckers for an awesome John Petrucci tone. [img]/images/graemlins/headbang.gif[/img] I do also really like the H/S setup, but I've never owned a guitar like that.

I prefer H/H/H with a mini-switch to split the coils of all three hums (10 different tones).

Very versatile.
