• My First Gig......

Well at least in a VERY LONG time. I finnally got to go out and play after waiting for 2 years.

I just couldn't seem to get a whole band together and the 1 that did call me actually sucked horrible, but the band I'm in now is the one that I metioned a while back here with the bad bass player.

He is so bad at times in practice that I was thinking of doing this one show and then quiting. Somehow he managed to be 400 times better at this show and didn't really sound to bad.

It actually turned out to be pretty good and the club owner booked us for 2 more shows.

After foolin with my gear the first set I was able to make it sound great, it was exactly what I wanted. My Marshall head was able to give me a great clean sound and I've heard that isn't the case most of the time.

I had the power cut switch in the low position for the first set, thinking I may have been to loud, but I didn't like the sound I was getting. I was told by a few people in the crowd, including a forum member that my marshall actually sounded like a Mesa Boogie.

It was just kinda muffled and I didn't like it, so I put it up to full power and all the sudden it was cruchy and clear and sounded great. I just had to crank it a bit, but the sound guy said I wasn't too loud fortunatly.

My jackson and My charvel copy were screamin and looked way cool on the stage

I had to use my brothere Epiphone Les Paul for 2 songs that were tuned down though and at first I wasn't happy about it, BUT It actaully sounded pretty good. I gave him a Dunncan Custom Custom for it and it was pretty fat sounding.

I'd like to thank Jason ( Ranalli) for comeing out and checking us out.

Cool Rick. Glad to see someone out there making $$$.
How do you think we fund this organization? We're not exactly the March of Dimes.

Great stuff Rick. It is amazing how some people and sometimes entire bands can pull it together and be better at the gig than they ever are at rehearsal. Sounds like you have a good thing going at last. Rock on!

Sounds good, Rick! Just remember
that it took 2 years to find these guys, so have some fun with it and focus on your own performance. Don't sweat it as much if the bass player's not that great.
You're the outsider in the band, so go with the flow, or play out with them until you get a better offer.

Your glass is half full, not half empty.
Enjoy the full half, don't pour it out because it's not full. Have fun!

Yeah, Rick did a great job for not being on stage for a while. His playing was great adn the show was good. Not bad at all for a band's first gig together...everything was tight and sounded good.

Gotta admit my favorite song was Crazy Train though!!!

Rick's not lying about the bass player though...the guy has some issues although strictly bass playing-wise he seemed to pull it off. Rick brother got up to jam for a few songs too and he's a good musician too...runs in the blood!!!

Rick I'll give you a call soon and we'll jam!!

Later!

Ron,

You can gor here and see the pics, I don't know how to post em here yet. If you do look, be warned, they are terrible! As you know I didn't take them The girl who posed them didn't do something right when she put them on our site, cause they sent me a few and they look a lot better than what's up on the website.

That's me with the bengal and my brother is playing my Vivan Campbell copy. Anyway here is the link if you want to try and look
