I'm still here. I'm a Dec 2002 enlistee - one month younger than the oldest of the old timers. I read, browse, and post now n' then. Bought a few things off members too.
I was feeling old lately. I would look in the mirror and not recognize the person staring back. I played last weekend and many of my co-workers came to see me. They are all ladies (I'm a male teacher in a grade school). One finally said, "We've been talking and nobody knows how old you are." "We guessed 42."
I told them I was 51 and they were surprised.
I guess with a guitar in my hand and rocking out, I appear younger. So keep on playing guys. It's our fountain of youth.
I can recall times when some new "old" member would be ready to light up all the kids in here with their age & wisdom. And then we'd find out that they were 24, and they'd find out most of us weren't 16 year olds in awe of all of their experience & stories about "back in the day"
We'll never see the end of people trying to be wiser than everybody else, hell, just recently the newb who got his jimmies ruffled for being told the cold harsh truth about "making it", claiming to be playing since age 12
but having to ask if a Marshall 1960 is a good cab
Still checking in. Never posted much but still into Jacksons.
My info to the left says 2003 but it has to be longer than that.
I know I was here way before, I remember in the very early days of my registry there was an official Jackson giveaway/contest or something that concerned a Soloist with flame-inlaid fretboard
and I was already an active member prior to ordering my USA Select RR1 (which I received in 2001)

I was reading something the other day talking about physical decline- real physical decline, not the inability to catch up to a 100 mph fastball. Science now says it doesn’t really start until mid 50’s in males and can be somewhat kept at bay till mid 70’s.
I say that already knowing it. My father is 70 and has I shit you not a 6 pack and big slab chicken cutlets for pecs. He eats right and goes to the gym. I very well could be the only guy you know who probably still can’t kick his father’s ass.
Point is- take care of yourself. Especially if you haven’t up till now. You will, for a time, age in reverse. Particularly if you are a bit out of shape now- you can get your testosterone back up and you’ll feel like the dangerous wolf you remember again.
Early 50’s is still pretty young. Your age is up to how you view it. Corny but true.
I havent been around as long as alot of you guys, but I was fairly regular many years ago and recognize alot of the names. I come here every now and again to see whats up but like others I rarely post, instead I look around for what Im researching and maybe check out some current topics then move on. I can assure you guys I still smoke dope and listen to Sabbath, so I havent changed too much.
Merry belated, hope everyone is doing well.

Been here since the very first board. (I'm thinking late 90's because I got in trouble for spending too much time on the board at work for E.T.S. and I left there in 98) Don't post too much, but check in at least 2-3 times a week.
Transitioning from Retired Musician from cover bands to a Full time vocalist/frontman/guitarist in an original and covers band....it's been a while and this should get NASTY!

Somewhere around 98-99 was the first board before Jeremy took over. The only thing I really remember about it was that it was formatted for 640x480 and I was running 1024x768 so it was like this little window in my big full screen browser. lol

I'm glad that the forum is still up... there's too much valuable knowledge here for it to be terminated. A forum like this is a million times better than FB groups, if you REALLY want something out of it other than people acting like smartasses and passing on incorrect info.
