  • Decoding Serial Numbers

    Hi All

Can you help with this please. Serial number on bolt plate is 01050216. I can't make sense of charts online.

I would like to know model ID. Not seen any others like it in general search.

New to forum can't see how to add images.

    Cheers

    Chris

All that can be offered from a serial is that it's made in India, 2001. And, that only applies if the neck/neckplate haven't been switched.
You need to post pics on a site such as photobucket and then copy the link here.

If that doesn't work out you'll need to describe the guitar in great detail including the body shape...Strat, Rhoads, Kelly, V or Warrior.
    96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

Hi Mudlark. Thanks for response. It is a Strat shape, flame maple print face - red stained body, neck and bridge humbuckers, Floyd Rose (ish) trem, nut lock.

Will try to set up link for images tomorrow.

      Chris.

        Dot or shark fin inlays?
        Reverse or standard headstock?
        Neck binding?
        Chrome or black hardware?

A pic will clear it up as well as show if it's all original.
I'd guess at a DX10D Dinky just for the heck of it.

Yes, a DX10D Dinky made in India, 2001. They moved production to Japan by 2002.

Actual footage of Mudlark being given vague clues and still nailing guesses LIKE A BOSS:

Unlike some brands that have serials that look like C201703030469, which translate into China 2017, March 3rd, the 469th made ---
Jackson doesn't do that. Nor do they have a model decoding system other than a few select models like RR and JJ.
