why is that EMG in the RR installed turned 180 deg? Mistake or purpose? And when on purpose makes it any difference in sound?

If I'm not mistaken, the idea behind it is that the signal picked up by the 1st coil gets boosted by the 2nd
If the 1st coil is at the bridge, the 2nd would amplify the more thin and piercing tone
If turned 180 the 2nd coil would amplify the more mellow character on the spot further from the bridge

Yeah, the EMG-89 can be split to single coil mode, but when it's all the way back the tone is too bright and shrill. So if you install it backwards, the active coil when split is warmer and rounder in tone. EMG makes the EMG 89R which has a reverse coil for that very purpose, but if in a pinch, a backwards install works the same purpose.

Damn. Normally I HATE dots but somehow that color paired with binding make the dots work to awesome effect.

Nice guitar, man. And I really mean that. That's gotta be the nicest dotted guitar I've seen.
