      A U.S. penny is listed as 1.55mm, a quarter 1.75mm, nickel 1.95, half-dollar 2.15mm and a Canadian quarter is 1.58mm if anyone wanted a quick 12th fret measurement.
      96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

You just invalidated your own argument. You stated something is better then you contradict yourself by saying it's subjective or personal preference.

9-46 for E & Eb. I like the tension of 10s on the lows and the easy bends of 9s on the plain strings.
          .007" relief
          4/64" at low E
          3.3/64" at high E

Used D'Addario 13-56 for years now tuned down 1/2 step

Great tone and never break a string either!

I go with 10s on my trem guitars, generally, and 11s on anything
with a fixed bridge. Standard tuning, and action around 4/64 if
the guitar will accept it. Works for me...

I've been telling people this for years. Most people don't believe he uses a gauge that small but he does.

And in Eb don't forget!!!!! He does use heavy wound strings though. What you'd find in a 10s pack.

                          i like eb

choose any letter. I like it.
I hate those people that tune to
                          E 1/2b

not quite e, not quite eb.

I have been using the EB Slinky Cobalt hybrid sets lately. 9-46. So the wound strings are like an 11 gauge set and the plain strings are a 9 gauge. It gives me a nice combination of chunky lows and easy to play highs.

If we're talking brand I use D'Addario all the time. I have tried just about every brand of strings out there and for me they are the best no matter what gauge.
