Not to go into detail but a Car-15 rifle crossed over a bloody AK-47 with a US ARMY Ranger death card( Ace of spades with a skull and crossbones in the center spade) stuck over the barrel of the AK with blood on the card.
I have a 92 Fusion H-H that is well worn so that is my candidate for a refin.

this on a black dr3 with some heiroglyphs...why?...cause king tut gets all the love on guitars and anubis never gets any...lol...sorry i don't have much of a story except i always had a weird fascination with all things egyptian and don't see enough guitars with that kind of artwork...lol...d.m.

Anubis is an interesting figure. I recently did an Anubis themed guitar on one of my builds.

                        My Entry

I had an old model 2 the first guitar I bought, on my own as a kid, however it burned up in a house fire several years later. It was a special guitar, as no other has felt the same. So I would like to imagine it went up in a blue flamed explosion.

This is a USA guitar and it could use a paint job:

And here is a graphic of the blue flamed explosion:

Mike, even if this is not a winner, I would like to know how much to paint this on my Charvel.

Mock-up to follow as soon as I can, but here is my story/reason:

No major “horrible” story here, especially compared to others I have read… on top of family health stuff, the usual (at our age) sick and dying friends, ending of relationship (broke up with a long time live-in) that we all have to deal with… I’ll tell you why this guitar build is important to me. It is not a pity party – it is just pleading my case to be considered for an entry into this awesome opportunity.

During all the stuff I listed above.. I also had an injury to my left wrist. I split the sheath and injured the tendon. It is the one that allows you to pivot your wrist, and angle your hand. I was cast like a beggar (arm at 90 degrees, hand pivoted up, up to mid bicep). I was stuck that way for 6 weeks, in which time my arm atrophied and my elbow froze. My arm shrunk so much, they had to recast me 3 weeks in.

Took about 4 months of rehab/PT, and I will never be 100%. If I reinjure, the only other option is surgery. My playing is not up to what it used to be, and I have had to change technique. Also playing for extended periods is actually painful. During that time, I had lots of song ideas and said if I ever get the ability to play again, I will never take it for granted, and will do a CD. I also perused old guitar magazines, which brought back a lot of memories. Well – time has come to put up or shut up. I’m gearing up for recording, and have also acquired guitars parts since that injury.. and I’m ready to build and make that the main recording guitar, as a tribute to my early influences, and that “freshness” you have when you are first learning guitar and master a new technique.

I acquired a 25th body from the run, had a single added, and got a GMW built neck.. I want something different and in all those old mags I thumbed through when I was injured – the Ibanez Luke kept jumping out at me. I’ve owned a solar GMW 25th, and a turquoise quilt, as well as a bound 3-tone burst.. but due to various issues – had to part with them all. This combines my love for old Charvel, with the new stuff, and all my GMW’s I miss. This will be a monster when it is done… and I think it will keep me inspired and playing for a long time to come.

Anyway – thanks for reading – and good luck to all!

Here's an idea I've had floating around for a tribute guitar. By no means am I a US history buff but I enjoy info about the Civil War and World War II. You tend to see a number of guitars with WWII themes with warbirds, Navy camos, German camos and rising suns. But, with the exception of a few confederate flags, I don’t think I’ve seen any Civil War theme graphic. July 2013 is the 150th anniversary of the Gettysburg battle and I’ve thought it would be cool idea to have a Civil War tribute.

Forgive my lack of Photoshop skills (and my lack of time to try and figure something out), but I would like to use a Charvel SD reissue strat body and divide it in half on a diagonal from the input jack to the upper horn. The top half (North) would be blue and the lower half (South) painted grey with a black line dividing them. Laid over the top of the front of the guitar would be the US flag and Confederate flag, tattered with battle scars, and having some wave to them. They would cover about 75% of the body and you would be able to see the blue and grey peeking through the holes and tears in the flags. On the upper arm contour would be “The Courage of the Blue” and near the lower horn would be “The Valor of the Grey” written in bold letters of an old script. These lines come from Iced Earth’s ep of Gettysburg 1863, which is one of my favorite cds. If any of you haven’t heard, definitely pick it up – it’s worth the listen.

On the back side, it has the same divided body with the blue and grey paint, including painting the covers, with “Gettysburg” and “1863” painted in similar font to the pic below. Underneath that be one or more cannons, painted in a shadowy outline so they don’t dominate or overpower the graphic on the back.

Here’s a couple pics that I would work from. Not the exact images but a general idea.

I don't have much of a story for mine and not a crazy design or anything.

My design is to represent my parents. My mother was born in England. The thing that I have chosen to represent my mother is the old English flag, the red cross on white field. My father was a firefighter for almost 40 years, so for him, I'd like the red cross on the English flag to be composed of fire and look like it's burning behind and the white foreground is struggling to contain the fire.

Here's my roughed up concept of the DKMGT that would end up being the project guitar. Since I didn't feel like trying to photoshop in the fire, I left the red as the current trans red finish. I'd like to see more signs of "burn damage" around the white/red transition points and more realistic flames than what the veneer is doing but this is just to give a general idea...
