    Yeah,

According to the article he just wanted the wings more pronounced because people thought he butchered a Gibson.

It has been years since I have been there, but the Hard Rock in Philly had a Jackson RR and a pic of Randy supposedly playing it.

Actually the wings on the second are poplar, says so right here...

The guitar in the Philly hard rock was built years after his death. It's probably just a pic of him playing his black V.

Hey, I loves me some nice figured rosewood. But there's a ton of crappy 'rosewood' that I've seen on Korean and Indian guitars out there too. It sounds great but uncleared, it is a little less smooth than ebony or maple.

When I get around to ordering my first Sully guitar, I'll spec rosewood just for you.

                  Deal!

Not to continue this digression much more, but it's not as smooth because it's more porous than maple or ebony, which are very tighly grained. However, you knew that! FWIW, that's an Indian Rosewood board, nothin fancy.

And really, when it comes down to it, ebony is my default anyway. I just get sad when I see good ol' Rosie get no love.

                    Sorry dude,

That would make a nice coffee table top, does nothing for me as a fingerboard. I have 20+ guitars and only 2 with rosewood just because ebony and maple were not an option...

But then again I like my fingerboard grain the same way I like vaginas VERY TIGHT!!!
