• Can a rear-mounted nut go on a DK2?

Is it possible to attach a rear mounted lock nut on a DK2 by just screwing it in from the front, or are the screw holes different sizes? I'm having a hard time finding a front mounting, black lock nut.

I believe you can just countersink the holes in the nut to give room for a flat head screw and you should be fine. Does it look like the holes line up or don't you have a nut yet?

I don't have the nut yet, I can get one, but i want to know if it'll fit.

Also, its a R43 nut, 1 11/16. I know 1 11/16 is right, but what about R43, is that the right size?

I believe you got the nut numbers wrong. There is no R43. However there are R3 nuts and R4 nuts. They both are 1-11/16" but the R3 has a smaller string spacing and is usually used for guitars with binding, whilst the R4 has a wider string spacing, for guitars with unbound necks.

I personally prefer R3 nuts on ALL my guitars. Bound fingerboard or not

        hope this helps
