  • Warrior Pro Arrives!!! (pics)

The Warrior Pro I won on ebay arrived about 40 minutes ago. It seems to be in pretty good condition, like 8/10. It took a long time to clean - it was pretty dirty. It polished up nicely. The ebony fretboard had a nasty gray film on and the frets were so grimy that they felt like sand paper But I was able to clean everything with some fretboard conditioner, paper towels and about 20 minutes of buffing the hell out of it. So now it's looking really promising. I haven't put new strings on yet, but it played pretty well even with the old nasty strings. After a setup and some new electronics I think she'll be pretty bad ass.

I noticed that next to the serial number there is a big "2." Does that mean factory second or something? I don't really care, the guitar seems to be fine - I'm just wondering.

      That looks fantastic.

Here is an old thread about '2' stamps.

I finished restringing with 10's (came with 9's) and setting it up. The only issue now is the wiring, which I was going to replace anyway. I'm going to remove the JE-1500 and rewire it with new pots, switches and jack. The stock pickups are actually pretty nice, but I might end up going for DiMarzio pickups like I originally planned. The control cavity is really tight - oddly smaller than the cavity in my black warrior pro.

Look at that carpet and drapes. Did they shoot porn in that room in the 70s?

They are probably still using that room to shoot porn today.

Why do those Armstrongs always look like something's been digging their teeth in?

No mention of the "2" from seller. I honestly don't think they saw it, they aren't guitar people. I wouldn't have seen it myself except I was cleaning the fretboard. It doesn't bother me, I don't see any issues to make this a factory second.

Yeah, I doubt Big Galoot Porn sells very well anyway...or perhaps it's one of those odd fetishes? :dunno:

thats an awesome guitar, congrats. how much did you pay for it? is that a kill or pickup coiling microswitch? the warriors look so much better with the blade selector than the toggle on the new warrior USA, for me toggles make a very metal looking guitar look somewhat shit. killer what makes a guitar a factory second?
