So I guess Eddy was not pleased with Jackson Charvel's custom shop and had it made a Fender custom deal not including the Charvel or jackson name in any way.
I know its the same company now but this guitar was listed in the old Charvel price list and now its exclusivley Fender/EVHGEAR there must be some big QC issues that even Ed notices.

Huh, seems like everyone I checked wanted top dollar for them. I ended up getting three brand new sealed ones now for less than the price of two back then. ching

Ahhh! I think I see the point of your question! Feb '07 Guitar One has Eric Clapton

They have stories behind 10 of his guitars. There was only a small section that mentioned the $20,000 Blackie guitars. Nothing like the knee-pads GW used for EVH.

Your handstriped IS a much more unique piece. Those are the ultimate in my eyes.

I'll chime in a little on this. I wanted one of these since the day they were announced(way back when the EVH AS was announced). At 1st there were supposed to be 100 at what everyone thought was gonna be around 10k, at that price and those numbers I was in. Then about a week ago I started to hear 25K and 300. If you don't know I have a hand striped EVH and I thought this would have been a cool companion piece for it, yes to put in a case on the wall.

Here is what killed it for me, the numbers being made. To me 300 is way too many, if it were a smaller run 25-50(or less), I would be in, but at 300 no way. I still believe my hand striped is a way more special piece. That is a guitar that was at Ed's house where he handled it/taped it/painted it/ played in concert. These replicas are just copies of a guitar he sent them, that was the extent of his involvement.

One would be naive to think that TV and print have not already been slave to big companies for many decades now...

I think I'll try to get the jump on the Chinese companies on this that will be selling the knockoffs on fleabay...

All I need is about $1000 in Warmoth parts, some space tape, and a sparkle sticker 5150 logo.

    My investment: $1100
    Sell on eGay for: $25,000
    My profit: $23,900

    Not bad.

Played by EVH. Signed by EVH. Pictures of your guitar with EVH. He may not have liked them, but he played them.
I'm with Shawn on this. If I were to blow that much coin on one guitar, it would be on one of the hand-striped runs that he made & played.

Nonetheless, I'm sure they'll be cool and successful anyway.

The comment you put your question to was relating to the cover of Guitar World, which is:

I'm not sure what's on the cover of Guitar One that you asked about

    I like your Frankie!

As far as appreciating, exactly how much is a $25k bolt on, one of 300 (Of this color..Think you'll see the other colors?) gonna appreciate? One that he never even touched?

Thats risky biz in my opinion.
