that is a great idea! every bolt-on i own is shimmed. it makes a nice difference.

I have 2 other new Charvel SD, and thankfully there are no shims, in the neck pocket or at the locking nut.

CNC cutting might put some purists off, but the close tolerances it allows greatly improve the overall quality, in my opinion.
Shims are bad for tone and resonance!
