i was trying to get in from jackson/charvel world site but after trying to sign it still wouldn't i then tried to register again. stiil wouldn't work but i went to ezboard.com and signed in and it works, but still can't go from j/cworld

The required login is the best way to measure actual usage of the board. The board was built for the benefit of people who want to engage in discussion, not lurk. I am trying to get a feel for how many people want that board there to post and how many want it there to lurk. If you have a better idea for how I can go about that I am all ears.

There are no rules or requirements to read or post or be a member of Charvel Central. All you need to do is log in to your EZboard account!

There are only two reasons by which that won't happen:

a) You don't want to - well, I can't help you there. If this is the case, you are a lurker and my time and efforts aren't really worth accomodating your petty privacy needs.

b) You can't - as admin of the site, I have not recieved a single email requesting help. If you have issues getting on, please let me know and I'll do what I can to help. I have logged into EZboard from all kinds of computers through all kinds of ISP's through all kinds of connectivity and never had an issue. But I'll help however I can.

The point of all this is if at the end of the day (figuratively), no one actively posts on Charvel Central and there are seldom any members logged in, it will be shut down. The JCF is too well populated and administrated NOT to be used as a resource for Charvel fans. Charvel Central has been active for nearly one year and activity and interest has dwindled significantly. My opinion is that it has run its course. The majority of the disussions over there have a parallel track on the JCF many times with the same members cutting and pasting posts! Same goes with classifieds. I see no value in this. Two of the admins of Charvel Central decided to come to the JCF to be admins. Nearly every member of Charvel Central is a member of the JCF. I just don't see the value in it anymore. The lines between the two boards started gray a year ago and have been further blurring ever since.

Over the next few weeks we'll see what happens but my premonition is by October Charvel Central will be no more.

Hossman runs the gallery, not the board. That gallery was donated by me to be part of www.jacksoncharvelworld.net.

If people on both boards can get along, talk about guitars, maybe lift some of the banned folk, I say give it a shot go with one board and see how it works outs. For me I don't post alot because I am not a collecter I'm a player who has alot of guitars. I don't know enough about how they where built, what color a screw should be etc. I just love the feel and tone of the old charvels. I say make Bret a Mod/Admin

I like both boards and hope CC remains.

I meant that as a general statement. Nothing more. I am a member of both boards. I am also a proud OC. Original Charvel owner. I just think one big board would be good that all. There is a ton of knowledge at both sites. We all just have to open up a little.

The problem I see with consolidating CC with JCF is the number of folks here who will be posting questions about thier "Made in Ft. Worth" Charvels, and the old timers getting sick of that, which is kinda what happened the first time around.
I think there are folks with a lot of Charvel knowledge who will post on CC and won't here, and that would be a loss. That's not your problem, Bret, just an observation.
