After having my 2008 CT So-Cal for almost six years I decided to stick an EMG-81 in it. So I get a Switchcraft stereo jack and found out the hard way that it does NOT fit in the football route. Even if you position the jack just right so you can bolt down the plate I found that when I plugged in a cable the contact for the ring would short out on the tip. That left me two options: fill and re-drill the mounting holes for the jack plate to position it more downwards, or remove material from inside the route. I went with the latter and managed to get it to work, but not without about an hour of frustration.
I guess whether the jack would fit in another guitar all depends on how the holes for the jack plate are drilled. So be WARY! Best to do a dry fit with a stereo jack before you decide to go balls deep with EMGs or other active electronics.
