  • Alice in Chains Thread with bootlegs and gear!!!

I am starting a official JCF Alice in Chains thread and I will be posting tons of bootlegs videos and pics of G&L Rampages, Bogner Fish preamps and whatever else is AIC related.

That is if you guys want to discuss AIC?

I will start the thread off with an amazing live soundboard recording of Sickman.

Looking forward to it. Can't believe last time I saw them was 1992, when Layne had the broken leg, and AIC opened for Ozzy. Time flies.

Man in the Box was phenomenal.

Facelift is my favorite album of all time, period. Sadly, I passed up a chance to see them play at First Avenue in Minneapolis in the early `90s, as I was working every moment I could to buy a car. The closest I got was the Facelift Live video on VHS. Jerry Cantrell is one of my favorite guitarists, and his vocals are great too.

        Jerry's tone = what's heavier?

Did you guys know it was Layne that got Tabitha Soren from MTV fired.

When Layne was at the MTV studios him and Tabitha had a fling and apparantley like getting #2 pencils shoved up her butt when she climaxes. A intern walked in when this happened at MTV studios and this was a major part of her getting let go from MTV.

their's is one of the few Unplugged appearances I could be bothered with. The songs translated to acoustic nicely & those harmonies... well, it doesn't matter whether the guitars are crunchy or not.

Me too man, they're one of the few non-metal bands that I like, but they were heavy in their own right. One of my fav bands actually. I dont have enough good things to say about them.

                  Thanks for the stuff AK47

Pencils shoved up her butt? I guess that's why she used the #2 model.

I got to see AIC open for Iggy Pop in I think 90 or 91. I remember standing in line to get in asking aloud "who the hell are these guys". They put on an awesome set and I was very impressed having never heard any of their stuff before. I didnt know who he was at the time but Jerry's dad was in the crowd that night. He was hard to miss as he was the only guy in the crowd wearing a blazer, cowboy boots, and a cowboy hat. After rooster came out was when I put it together. I got to see the Ozzy show when Layne was injured as well. They had the couch in front of the drum riser and would set on it periodically during the set. That was a good show overall except that Motorhead was supposed to open and for whatever reason they canceled. The replacement was Blind Melon. Nothing against them but they were not playing to anything close to their normal audience that night.

I remember seeing AiC at a country bar in Memphis during the early nineties when they were on tour with Van Halen. Jerry Cantrell got snowed in somewhere in Oklahoma so AiC couldn't fill their opening slot for the Van Halen show so for them to keep the contract valid they had to put on a free makeup show in Memphis. The show was free but at that time I was under 21 so I got charged a buck to get him. Was a really good show.

i got to see AIC a few times, one of my favorite bands. back when they played lollipoploser i worked for a company that did the food services. jerrys rig was right next to us before they setup. cant tell from that pic but then its was bogner fish, intelliflex & mosvalve poweramp. & as usually they were great....& jerry's tone is killer, still one of my favorites, dark, heavy & full of chunk.

Just wondering if anyone has heard the Mad Season stuff? Some people really like it others just think it was OK.
